The invention pertains to emulsion polymerization for creating a polymer coating on elastomeric items, such as gloves. The method involves a two-stage polymerization process in a reactor, where the monomer mixture is introduced in two portions at different stages. This approach reduces unreacted monomers, enhancing efficiency and ensuring uniform particle size. The two-stage process also minimizes heat generation, making the overall polymerization safer. The resulting polymer emulsion, intended for coating elastomeric articles, exhibits fewer unreacted monomers and smaller particles, promoting a uniform coating layer. Additionally, a specific monomer weight ratio improves surface smoothness, facilitating easy donning of gloves produced using this method.
