Super, Red Palm and Palm Oleins For Use In Treatment and Prophylaxis

The present invention relates to super olein, red palm olein and palm olein for use in the treatment and/or prophylaxis of hypertension and/or for improvement of cardiovascular parameter and lipid profile. Accordingly, the present invention provides a composition for use in a treatment or prophylaxis of hypertension and for improvement of cardiovascular parameter and lipid profile from vegetable oil, characterized in that the composition includes one or more olein selected from the group comprising super olein, red palm olein and palm olein, wherein the composition includes 15% of oil supplemented diets formulated by mixing 15% wt/wt oil with standard subject diet, and wherein the olein is administered for 3 months or more.
